Privacy Policy

The Murder Whisperer is a multiplayer detective game operated by Theodore Huntington. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do not do.
Mobile numbers are never shared
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile phone numbers or SMS consent with anyone, for any purpose. Numbers are not passed to third parties, affiliates, advertisers, or data brokers. They are used only to deliver the message they were given for.
Invitation numbers
When a player invites a friend, they type that friend's mobile number into the game lobby and we send one text containing the join link for that game.
The number is not stored. It is held in memory for up to one hour, solely to stop the same number being texted repeatedly, and then discarded. It is never written to our database, never added to a mailing list, and never used for anything other than that single invitation.
Account information
If you create an account we store your email address, and your mobile number if you provide one. We send account and case-update messages by SMS only if you have separately opted in, and you can withdraw that consent at any time.
Message frequency
Invitations are sent one at a time, only when a player enters a number — typically a handful during a game night and none otherwise. Account messages to opted-in customers are infrequent, no more than a few per month.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply.
Opting out and getting help
Reply STOP to any message to stop receiving texts from us. Reply HELP for assistance. You can also email lauren@the-murder-whisperer-challenge.com.
Game data
We store the games you have played and the cases you own, so you can return to them. Evidence dealt to you during a game is visible only to you and is not retained after the case ends.
Payments
Purchases are handled by Wix. We never see or store card details.
